Eligibility Criteria and Award Conditions

To be eligible for a Women in Optimisation OPTIMA-CON 27 Travel Grant you must be:

  • do research in optimisation as an academic or a current Postgraduate student studying optimisation research (any discipline).
  • work at or attend an Australian university outside of Melbourne
  • you DO NOT need to be a member of OPTIMA
  • presenting a seminar or a poster at the conference; and
  • registering to attend the conference for its full duration
  • prepared to submit a 500-word 'reflection' report for OPTIMA to promote the event
  • you must have the consent of your institution/primary supervisor to attend this event
  • attend the event in person
  • does not reimburse the registration cost
  • the recipients of this grant will also receive 25% off the price of a standard ticket

Travel grants are awarded at the discretion of OPTIMA. The total amount paid out will be equal to or less than $1250, depending on the total travel costs. Applicants are encouraged to pursue other sources of funding support if required.

Grant opportunities for OPTIMA‑CON 27 are subject to sponsorship and will be confirmed closer to the conference. Details will be updated on this page as they become available.

To be eligible for an OPTIMA-CON 27 Postgraduate Travel Grant you must be:

  • a current Postgraduate student studying in optimisation research (any discipline).
  • attend an Australian university outside of Melbourne
  • You DO NOT need to be a member of OPTIMA

  • registering to attend the conference for its full duration
  • attend the event in person
